Stakeholder meeting in Niamey
From 2nd-3rd October 2018, WASCAL was hosting the first CIREG stakeholder meeting in Niamey, Niger. The aim was to establish contacts between the CIREG project consortium and stakeholders from different sectors from the countries Niger, Burkina Faso, Ghana, and Togo. We discussed and identified factors that may hamper the deployment of renewable sources for electricity generation in West Africa. Our demand-driven approach requires the co-development of climate services. The need for climate services in the context of renewable electricity generation and the identification of climate-relevant knowledge gaps was guiding our workshop.
